July 6, 2021 – Chicago, IL – Renowned fashion designer, Wajahat Mirza announces “Beauty and War” as the theme of his new collection. As suggested by its theme, the new collection is dedicated to the veterans of the United States and will be exhibited at Style Showcase’s next fashion show. The show, which is a fundraising event for Purple Heart Charity, will be held at the War Memorial Center in Milwaukee on August 7.

The new collection – ‘Beauty and War’ is highly anticipated by fashion enthusiasts and followers around the world following the great wave of Wajahat’s latest collection titled ‘Latin Odyssey.’ Discussing the inspiration behind this collection, Wajahat referenced the Latina performing arts – a reminiscent of different traditions and their histories.

“The Latin Odyssey collection was inspired by Latina performing arts. A marriage of Eastern aesthetics with western silhouettes to take the wearer from day to night. The collection features stylish, elegant, and easy to carry gowns with comfortable easy-to-wear cuts and fabrics in the color of beauty – ‘black.’ The fabrics used included exquisite silks, rich georgettes, and jerseys, which are all fabulous on the skin and are easy to care for.” – Wajahat Mirza

Wajahat is a firm believer of sustainability in fashion and therefore builds his collections using nontoxic materials, maximizing resources, and minimizing waste. The Chicago-based designer has used ‘deadstock fabrics’ (discarded fabrics which usually end up as landfills, hence polluting the planet), including recycled fibers for his collection. He believes that fashion should be fun, glamorous, and eco-friendly at the same time.
