Still life Photographer Toni Payne to debut in New York’s Time Square With Artwork

From over 1500 submissions, her art was chosen to be shown on billboards in Time Square during the NFT NYC conference.

 

Popular still-life photographer and spoken word poet Toni Payne will showcase her art in New York’s Time Square. This will be the first time her art will be featured in a public billboards. Getting her artwork displayed in Time Square means thousands of visitors will see it, and her artwork will reach out to more people than before. As a black woman photographer whose still life art is heavily influenced by the renaissance period, this could influence how some view black art.

Her artwork was selected from over 1500 artists for featuring on billboards in Time Square in the Diversity of Art showcase at the NFT NYC conference. The applicants included renowned photographers from different parts of the world.

The artists were selected based on:

– Artists who had demonstrated thought leadership in the NFT community.

– Those artists who represented the diversity of the NFT NYC community.

– Those individuals who are passionate about NFTs diversity.

The art piece submitted by Toni Payne is titled Still Life with Yoruba Talking Drum. It is photography with spoken word poetry. This piece of artwork celebrates the Yoruba culture.

Toni Payne said, “I am excited that I got the chance to show my art in Time Square. Not only is this a big opportunity for me, but it is also great for Contemporary Still Life Art.”

Her visual art style revolves around Still Life Photography. She enjoys making creative things out of the mundane. Her interest in Documentary Photography led her to document people and wildlife in their daily lives. She started selling her art as NFTs in 2021. She has a few collections like Everyday Africa, Contemporary Still Life, Phoetry, Divine Skies, and Legends Live Forever.

Toni is currently still working on her latest collection, Legends Live Forever. She has released the first batch and will continue releasing more in the coming months until she reaches over 120 pieces. She is also releasing visual art infused with poetry in a collection she calls Phoetry.

 

Her goal is to create art that resonates with people while also building a legacy for herself. She sees herself as a story teller and hopes that her art can inspire, motivate and influence.
