Hollywood Producer Suzanne DeLaurentiis and Author Jeff Lazarus are in Development to Produce Pet-loving Comedy TV Series

Jeff Lazarus, the author of Dogtology and Catakism, is working with Suzanne DeLaurentiis Productions to bring his books to life and into people’s homes.

Suzanne DeLaurentiis Productions, known for films like 10th & Wolf, The Dark Tourist, and Middleton Christmas as well as TV series like Very Frightening Tales and Pet Doctors of Atlanta, is developing a new comedy series shedding (no pun intended) light on just how far our obsession with our four-legged loved ones goes.

Suzanne DeLaurentiis Productions, which is known for films like 10th & Wolf, A Month of Sundays, How Sweet It Is, The Dark Tourist, and Middleton Christmas as well as TV series like Very Frightening Tales and Pet Doctors of Atlanta, is developing a new comedy series shedding (no pun intended) light on just how far our obsession with our four-legged loved ones goes.

Jeff Lazarus and Suzanne DeLaurentiis announced the new collaboration at her “Celebrate, Honor & Remember” red carpet event last Friday, September 24th at Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel in Los Angeles. The event was attended by celebrities and VIP guests and honored U.S. Veterans and active U.S. Military. Lazarus also served as one of the generous sponsors for the event.

The untitled TV series is based on the best-sellers Dogtology and Catakism, both written by Jeff Lazarus and published by Skyhorse and distributed by Simon & Schuster. The books are humorous, pun-filled perspectives on how devoted humans are to their dog and/or cat, which Lazarus compares to a form of religious worship.

Details on the new series are still being developed, but DeLaurentiis and Lazarus say it will feature anthology-style short stories representing different aspects of how far we take our love and our quirky habits…all to pamper the fur baby who runs the home. The stories are inspired by the topics and chapters in the books.

Dogtology and Catakism are available in both hardcover and ebook through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and most other booksellers.
