Physician and entrepreneur Dr. Anosh Ahmed has announced the winners of his Academic Scholarship Program, which seeks to help students enduring personal hardship achieve their academic and professional goals.
The three winners of the program were Javier Sarmiento, Ishita Aggarwal, and Taylyn Carrington. Each of them will get $1,000 to put towards their post-secondary education.
“The Dr. Anosh Ahmed Scholarship campaign does not just take some of the financial pressure off of students and their families. It aims to inspire a greater sense of motivation and belonging and assist deserving students in their post-secondary studies,” Dr. Anosh Ahmed said.
Amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially on learners, the three winners managed to secure outstanding grade point averages. They expressed commitment to finishing their respective degrees with flying colors.
Javier Sarmiento, currently studying Digital Media at Buena Vista University, says getting the coveted scholarship would enable him to follow his dreams and build a promising future for his family and the community he wants to serve.
On the other hand, Taylyn Carrington will be resuming her education at Tech University in Creative Media Industries.
Meanwhile, Ishita Aggarwal will be attending Queen’s University, where she is pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree.
In addition, due to an enormous number of applicants, Dr. Ahmed has also chosen seven scholars to get $500 towards their education.
They are Belen Padilla, Serena Tatu, Jayla Taylor, Kyra Fernandez, Hritika Chaturvedi, Nicole Lam, and Shreya Shivakumar.
Dr. Anosh Ahmed, an entrepreneur by heart and avid philanthropist, has channeled his entrepreneurial success towards giving back and helping others.
“As both an entrepreneur and medical professional, I know how crucial an academic education is to long-term success. Post-secondary studies equip children with the tools and resources to improve themselves both personally and professionally,” said Dr. Anosh Ahmed.
Dr. Anosh Ahmed expressed his deep appreciation to everyone who took the time to apply for the scholarship.
From humble beginnings, Dr. Anosh Ahmed and his family immigrated to the United States at seven years old.
He entered the workforce at the age of 13 to help support his family, where he discovered his entrepreneurial passion.
Before completing medical school, Dr. Anosh Ahmed owned and operated various important/ export businesses and restaurants.
As a thriving entrepreneur, he attributes much of his success to his outstanding work ethic and attention to detail.
Dr. Anosh Ahmed obtained a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership before attending medical school. He eventually completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital.
“Education has transformed my life. I always believe in its power in changing other peoples’ lives as well,” Dr. Anosh Ahmed said.
