The nonprofit organization has scaled up efforts to help the nation’s wounded warriors after launching a donation drive aimed at financially supporting those who cannot afford to pay their rent and utility bills in the state of Georgia.

Southern Empowerment Organization has stepped up efforts to help veterans in the State of Georgia after launching a donation drive aimed at supporting their needs.

Southern Empowerment Organization is a nonprofit organization that supports veterans financially who cannot afford to pay their rent and utility bills in the state of Georgia.

“The thing is, life after the military can pose several challenges for many veterans, particularly in the State of Georgia. It is unimaginable that people who have served the country struggle to afford necessities for their own. However, this is the reality for many veterans,” says Johnnie Lattimore, Executive Director at Southern Empowerment Organization.

Lattimore says this is where Southern Empowerment Organization comes into the picture. Its donation drive serves as a tangible way to show gratitude and support for the sacrifices made by veterans in the State of Georgia for keeping the country safe.

Lattimore says the organization has been serving as a beacon of hope for veterans across the state.

Aside from financial and rental assistance, Southern Empowerment Organization also leads the charge in assisting veterans in getting their VA benefits by filing the required documentation to the VA administration.

“Filing a compensation claim can be a laborious task. Despite completing the online version of the claim, one may find that it takes about 30 minutes only to fill in all the blanks,” says Lattimore.

“In addition, getting the needed supporting documentation and filing it to the VA can take much time and can be frustrating,” adds Lattimore. “Southern Empowerment Organization leads the way in filing a claim and applying for benefits.”

Southern Empowerment Organization also offers financial aid to veterans to purchase a new home and pay closing costs.

From childhood interest to business, Lattimore said he always had an interest in veterans and their courage on the battlefields in foreign countries.

“This made me realize at an early age I wanted to help veterans,” shares Lattimore.

Over the years, Lattimore said his interests have grown in helping veterans and offering support for the service in keeping the country free.

While most Americans feel grateful for the sacrifices of the military, Lattimore says contributing to the Southern Empowerment Organization serves as a tangible way to show their support in action rather than just words.
