Katy Memorial Pediatrics is pleased to announce that the Katy Pediatrician practice has expanded to include two new doctors on site. Dr. Ayeni is a board-certified pediatrician and has recently worked in pediatric urgent care. Dr. Gonzalez is a native Texan who is glad to be back in her home state after spending several years as a practicing pediatrician in Florida and Arizona. The new professionals join Dr. Francisco Moreno, who has been serving patients in the Katy and Houston area for 40 years and Dr. Ramaswamy Nithya, who has been practicing pediatrics for more than two decades.
Dr. Olusimidele (Simi) Ayeni was raised in the Washington, D.C. suburbs of Prince George’s County, Maryland. As a medical student, Dr. Ayeni was humbled by the fact that a positive encounter with one child can change a family, even the greater community, prompting her to pursue a career in pediatrics. She moved to Texas in 2013 and completed her residency training at Baylor College of Medicine-affiliated hospitals (Ben Taub and Texas Children’s Hospital). She is happily married with two children and now calls Katy home. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, supporting church activities, watching movies, and loves to dance.

Dr. Ayeni graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she was a Meyerhoff Scholar. Afterward, she moved “South” and matriculated to the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, earning her M.D. and a Ph.D. in Microbiology upon completion of the Medical Scientist Training Program.
Dr. Gonzalez is a native Texan who is glad to be back in her home state after spending several years as a practicing pediatrician in Florida and Arizona. Her areas of special interest include newborn care, preventative medicine, and asthma management. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring Houston, traveling, and all things Disney. After graduating from Rice University, she received her medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She then completed her pediatric residency at UF College of Medicine- Jacksonville.
